Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee

To pass a Resolution that: George German be declared as the Interim Chairperson for the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee until Sue Warren can resume her position as Chair.

To pass a Resolution that; The agenda be approved and adopted as presented.

To pass a Resolution that; The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee acknowledges the verbal presentation by Ross Lambert of the Simpson Masonic Lodge No. 157 regarding a proposed Storyboard about the Simpson Masonic Lodge to be located at Newboro Community Hall on municipal property to the west of the hall building; And WHEREAS the proposed Storyboard will be produced by the Simpson Masonic Lodge at their cost; And WHEREAS the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee approves the proposed storyboard content as amended subject to the approval of the Newboro Community Enhancement Committee (CEC); NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee recommends that t he Simpson Masonic Lodge No. 157 consult the Newboro Community Enhancement Committee (CEC) and subject to the approval of the Newboro Community Enhancement Committee regarding the proposed Storyboard content AS AMENDED and its proposed location at the Newboro Hall; And FURTHER the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee recommends to Council that the Storyboard produced by the Simpson Masonic Lodge No. 157 be located at the Newboro Community Hall, on the municipal property west of the building; And FURTHER recommends to Council that the Municipality provide the footings needed for installation at a cost that will be reimbursed by the Simpson Masonic Lodge No, 157; And FURTHER recommends to Council that the Municipality install the Storyboard at the Township's expense.

To pass a Resolution that; The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee approves and adopts the Minutes of the MHAC Meeting held March 16, 2023 as amended.

To pass a resolution that: The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee acknowledges Recommendation from the 74-2023 - Portland CEC Minutes MHAC Update Register; And FURTHER recommends that a staff be brought forward to an upcoming meeting with regard to the status of the Gallagher Property, located at 14 Water Street in Portland, as it pertains to the Official Heritage Register.

To pass a resolution that: The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee (MHAC) recommends to Council that the cost of $465 to the Ontario Historical Society (OHS) for the incorporation of the newly formed Newboro and Area Heritage Society be paid from the 2023 MHAC Budget.

To pass a motion that: The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee has no concerns regarding the application for a proposed new dwelling, septic and change of use for the Designated Heritage Property located at 24 Briar Hill Road, known as the Morton Pimple.
