The Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee recommends to Council that By-Law 2020-50 Schedule A be amended to change the spelling of "Ballantine" to read "Ballantyne" for historical accuracy; and FURTHER that the Historic Settlement sign be replaced to reflect the revised spelling.

Be it resolved that the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee (MHAC) selects priority properties for heritage designation by-laws to be amended and/or created in alignment with the Ontario Heritage Act; WHERAS the following properties were selected in March 2025 for amendment as per MHAC Recommendation 2025-16; The Sheldon House (Designation By-law #30 - 1985-628) The Morton School (Designation By-law #2 - SC 21-83) The Newboro Community Hall (New By-law for designation) And WHERAS the redirection of funds was approved by Council on November 3, 2025 through Resolution 268-2025 MHAC Redirection of Funds ; Now therefore the following properties will prioritized for the next phase of amendments: Thomas Graham House (B-1984-604) David Laidlaw House (NC 86-12) Pennock House (SC 23-83)
